Considering to volunteer in Tohoku, Japan?

O.G.A. FOR AID (www.ogaforaid.org) is seeking a volunteer for a period of one month or more to assist with operations in Minamisanriku, one of the hardest hit areas in the March 11 disaster. You will be required to help run and promote a Community Learning Center. Tasks will include teaching English to all ages of people and creating a curriculum, promoting the center to townspeople and visitors and general management, which includes for the internet café. Accommodation, food and local transportation are all provided. Prefer someone with drivers’ license, as there may also be the opportunity to help deliver essential supplies to temporary housing units. If you’ve ever wanted to volunteer, here’s your chance. Beyond politics, poverty and war.

If you haven’t seen it already, I urgently ask you to do so.. Zeitgeist II Addendum shows not only part of the failure the current system is build on, but also offers a logical and sane way to live in harmony with the Earth and its natural resources. This film is definitly a must see for everyone. Personally, I feel sick when I think about ‘modern’ society. The Venus Project has a solution which might seem infeasible, but should be one every person’s mind. The idea that a world as such is possible gives hope and courage to live on. I ask you again, watch this movie, read about it, believe in it, and share this around. I thank you.

Marketing Graduate

Even though I got the results delayed because of my physical absence, the outcome is clear: I graduated at the Faculty of Applied Business in Ghent! For the actual grades I’ll have to go there myself (they won’t come online), but I figured I shouldn’t wait for celebrating. Which I did at a very nice bar in Anyang with some Korean rice wine, mixed with strawberry juice and some delicious cake my girl bought for me. Now the question is what I should do next and I’m doubting between adding another year or throwing myself in the job market immediatly. I could sure use some money after all that travelling abroad, but a post graduate in Digital Marketing and Communication sure looks interesting too. Definitly something to think about in the next month. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy my last days in Seoul before going back to Ghent.

Be a touchscreen yourself

When I came across this article, which talks about a new technology sponsored by Microsoft that projects commands onto ones skin, I immediately had to think about the Philips led-tattoos, which then could be like some kind of screensaver. That would be quite awesome. And once we’re all wired up inside, human race will be one step closer to what Japanese animations have been telling ever since; cyborgs. Let’s only hope someone will take over from Microsoft, since nobody wants to be covered in a blue screen, now do we?
